Police Chief Says Michael Jackson Death Might Be Ruled Homicide

As the investigation into the death of Michael Jackson continues, the Jackson family awaits toxicology reports that will determine the true cause of death. Today, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton said that the toxicology reports will determine whether or not Jackson's death was a homicide or an accidental overdose.

In an interview with ABC News yesterday, Joe Jackson, Michael's father, stated that he believed there was foul play involved. "I just couldn't believe what was happening to Michael," he said. "I do believe it was foul play. I do believe that."
If the Jackson death is ruled to be a homicide, it would mean that manslaughter charges could be brought against the doctor who prescribed the drugs to Michael. Jackson, who died from cardiac arrest on June 25, was said to have been taking prescription drugs, including the very potent drug, Diprivan. The LAPD is currently investigating Jackson's prescription drug use, and have subpoenaed the medical records from his doctors.
"We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner's office as to cause of death," Bratton told CNN.
